The house of Zabludovsky

The house of Zabludovsky is one of the brightest and most decorated buildings in the city center of Odessa; it has been decorating Gogol Street and the perspective of Sabaneev Bridge since 1890.

The screaming, kitschy architecture of the house boldly combined with the lush and varied forms of historicism with elements of Ukrainian-Bessarabian folk ornamentation.

Due to the abundance of decor and the variety of color solutions, the house received 2 common nicknames among the inhabitants of Odessa of that time - kaleidoscope house and marshmallow house .

The richest interior decorations were also matched to the facade, part of which has reached the present time in very good condition.
